Had to attend as emergency while holidaying in area due to senior dog taking turns for worse. Vet very thorough, gentle and professional. Gave exact same opinion and recommendation as own vet when previously occured. Showed compassion and respect as we initially thought the end had come.

No compassion from a male vet at this practice. My dog was hit by a van which didn't stop. Unfortunately I had no transport ( due to car being in garage) or way to get to the vets so my neighbour kindly took me as emergency. My dog is a rescue approx 9 months. Xrays where performed and I was told that she had a shattered paw and I was informed it would cost over £2000 to operate and it would perhaps need amputated.I asked the vet to go ahead with the operation and I would get the money from the bank in the morning as it was not an option to get it at that point.I was informed no that not good enough, full payment upfront or no operation.I explained I would need to get it the following day.I enquired about deposit etc and was given the same response. No upfront payment then no operation or help.I said could we get pain relief overnight and take her home until the morning when I could get the funds and come back for operation and was told no.Was told I wasn't allowed to take dog home.It was operation or I had to put my dog down there and then.I was in shock, upset and then railroaded and pressured by this vet.Absolutley no compassion from them and no thought about the shock I was in and how upsetting it all was.Clearly this vet only cares about money and not the animal and the owner.I had no choice but to then have to let my lovely girl go when I didnt want to. I would have paid the rest of the balance in full (if they had even took half as a deposit).Im completely heartbroken and in shock. If they had simply let me pay a deposit even until the next day I would have paid the balance in full and did everything I could for my lovely dog.Im heartbroken and angry at this vet showing no compassion for any of us.I understand they are a business but they also must have gotten into veterinary medicine to help animals.I know there was no kindness or compassion shown to me and my dog or the situation and I'm not the only person to have experienced the same at this vets with the same male vet.Other people have complained about the same vet doing this to them also and showing no compassion. For this reason I wouldnt recommend this practice.

Took our sick dog to Cowal vets & within a few minutes of the vet seeing her they picked up on a Pyometra infection & took her straight for surgery. The whole process was very professionally dealt with & the care & attention they showed to our dog & ourselves was outstanding. They did indeed save our dogs life & now she’s back to full recovery & full of life. Highly recommended vet.

My 10 week old puppy hurt her legs. I phoned the vets she got seen straight away. She got sedated, morphine and calpol and x-rayed. Thankfully there was nothing to see on the x-ray and she was sent home and i was told to bring her in the next day at 9am to see how she was. When we returned the vet checked her over and decided to give a prescription of painkillers and I was told to take her back if it doesn't get better in the next few days. It's already getting better. Fantastic staff and vets. Reasonably priced too.
