Our 16 years old yorkie died at home and I can’t thank the member of staff enough for her kindness and sympathy at such a difficult time, it helped me to see where my special boy was going for his final adventure. Highly recommend

From the moment I called PCS at Irvine, Ayrshire to ask some question I knew I was in compassionate, caring, safe hands. My beautiful wee dog had passed away on Friday and whilst still in shock, I had agreed to a cremation service arranged through my local vet with a 2 to 3 week turnaround. A day later I went back to the vet to some questions to understand what I had agreed to. I learned that they used a cremation service miles away from my home with a collection service once a week. The only thing I had been asked was what urn did I wish and I was shown a laminated A4 with tiny wee pictures. I decided this wasn't good enough. I wanted to look after my wee doggy in death as I had in life. I called PCS who explained everything so well on the phone. I collected my dog the following morning arrangement from my local vet. I took her bed, some fav toys, denta chews, her collar, lead, flowers and her first blanket. All meaningful items I wished to be with her for her last journey. I drove past at stopped for a few moments at some of her favourite places on the half hour drive. When I arrived at PCS Irvine, the staff were wonderful. They helped me carry my dog into the private family room. It seemed just so beautiful. The private family room was beautifully decorated. We got to spend private special time with our wee dog. Once we were ready to say our goodbye, the staff then took detailed notes on what we wished cremated with her (a toy, blanket, a poem and two denta chews), we asked for some items back, and some more hair clippings. Everything we requested was done with compassion. We then got to look at lots of urn options on displays, and choose the perfect one. I then asked to go back to see my girl, and I spent yet more time with her. We got Isla ashes back several hours later that same day. Staff called me when she was ready to be collected. The way she was brought to us, with all the beautiful wee touches was perfect. I simply cannot thank the staff enough for making our difficult day as perfect as we could have hoped for. I know cost never matters in these circumstances, and I drove my own doggy there , and collected her ashes, but - the cost was £130 cheaper than the service my vet initially charged me (which I was refunded). It's never too late to arrange it yourself. PCS do a collection service too, or get a friend to help you take your loved one in a dignified way - it helped me so much with the grief. Thank you PCS Irvine.

My beloved benji passed away on 30th dec '25,on the vets advice we used pcs ayrshire to have benji cremated,l was told there may be a slight delay in benji coming home due to the new year which was ok as to me a slight delay is a week, he was collected on the 30th dec the day he passed, l called pcs on wednesday 7th jan just to enquire if they had an idea as to when benji could come home l was told it would be a further 2 weeks so in total they wouldve had benji for 3wks, their excuse was that due to the new year they were cramming 5 days into 2 to catch up, what a thing to say to a person grieving for their pet.Today friday 9th jan l asked the pet cremation at larkhall to collect benjis body and take over the cremation, what a difference the people at larkhall were so sympathetic and caring and understanding they told me l would have benji home in 3days, l had to call pcs to tell them to release benjis body and when l spoke to them they told me he had been cremated l told them l wanted him home and l was coming to collect them lm sure you will agree with me when you are in this situation, upset and grieving you just want your pet home but they had been holding his ashes since wednesday without telling me l was then told she would need to go check if it was ok for me to collect him someone would call me back. The site manager called me back with an appointment to collect benji but toldme she sought permission from the vet to release him, hes my dog not the vets how dare she at a time of upset tell me that collecting my dog depended on the vet.We arrived to pick benji up and the site manager dealt with us she needs a customer care course in compassion and the van driver listening into our conversation from behind a window, trying to hide needs spoken to, she tried to backtrack on saying about asking for permission my partner told her her choice of words were wrong it wasnt right to say to a grieving owner that they needed permission to get their pet back we were also told that if you take your dog in yourself rather than do it through the vet you get a better service you get your pet back sooner, how does that seem right l paid the same amount as the person bringing their pet in so why should l get an inferior service, she had no compassion or understanding l called head office to lodge a complaint and they couldnt have been less interested their ears perked up when l said ld be leaving a review on the terrible service, they have caused me no end of upset if l could give them no stars even that would be too much for them if you find yourself in the situation of losing a pet and want them cremated then go somewhere that cares and is understanding because it certainly isnt this mob l will never use them again if they cannot cope with the number of pets being brought in or get them back to their owners once they have been cremated or show any compassion or understanding then they shouldnt be in this business. A further note to add, as you can see by the reply from pcs they have asked for us to contact them to discuss the terrible incompassionate service we received, lm still far too upset to speak to them, they added to my grief and upset for benji so my partner who was with me when l went to collect benji from pcs contacted them by email in response to their reply, l dont need to tell you we have been totally ignored, that tells you all you need to know about this mob, they couldnt care less

WRONG NAME. Our beloved bulldog Atlas sadly passed away and our vets use PCS Ayrshire. We opted to get Atlas cremated individually in a wooden casket. When we received the casket back Atlas was spelt wrong as ‘Atals’, we were shocked by this and confused as to how it could have happened! Our vets got in touch with the company and they sent a replacement plaque to just “stick on top” of the one with the spelling mistake, and we got a phone call of apology. We were disappointed with this solution as we now have to either try remove the old plaque, or stick the new plaque on top of the incorrect one. It has added extra stress and upset to an already sad time of grief.
