McTaggarts vets is one of the very few remaining independent vets in the area, and I’ve recommended them to clients often over the years. Shona McTaggart is highly dedicated, caring and diligent. She’s also my go-to whenever I’ve wanted advice or a second opinion about a case. I had a particularly tricky patient staying with me for in-patient care during covid times, whose own primary vet was quite far away, who needed repeat radiographs. Shona was incredibly helpful in liaising with the referring vet and my client and gave me an appointment when she was really busy with her own patients and in no position to be taking on extra work. She goes above and beyond to help. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough.

We moved to North Ayrshire 4 years ago and the first thing we did was look for recommendations for a vet for our 3 dogs and our cat. So many folk recommended McTaggarts in Dalry and thankfully I listened! We were able to meet them with our boys, a brilliant practice that don’t just know their names but know their histories and their needs. I can’t honestly say this enough, everyone who works there is top top and for me, the fact it’s family owned and not a big bland corporate is just the icing on the cake. Ine if our boys is only here because of Shona and the team. That says enough for me. 100% recommended.
