I am absolutely disgusted and heartbroken by my experience with Abbey Vets. My cat accidentally ingested something toxic — a potentially life-or-death situation. Despite living literally two minutes away, when I phoned pleading for help, I was coldly told they would not see her because she was not registered with them. Instead, I was advised to drive 40 minutes to Glasgow rather than the 2 minutes up the hill while every minute could have mattered. This shows me very clearly that the welfare of animals is not their priority — money is. A genuine veterinary practice should put compassion and emergency care first, not paperwork. Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. Only recently, after a dog was hit on Inverkip Road, Abbey Vets’ “advice” was to take it to the police station, simply because there was no owner present to pay a bill, where the dog passed away. That response is beyond shocking and proves my point — if there isn’t money involved, they don’t care. Abbey Vets have shown me they lack the basic compassion and duty of care you would expect from any veterinary practice. I will never forget how badly they failed us when my pet’s life was on the line.

I was badly let down by Abbey vets and I'm sorry but in the last years many people have left this vets as well. due to many reasons, very sad but true, due to my dog being reactive I stayed outside in my car calming my dog, the weather was terrible and I was kept outside getting wet for around an hour and a half, I ended up very ill with a chest infection after this event. which was clearly avoidable and I was treated awful......very upsetting

Excellent vet practice. Reasonably priced and always very professional with friendly reception staff and nurses. Checked over my wee cat after I explained I was worried about his recent crazy behaviour and the vet put my mind at ease and explained everything. Have used Abbey vets Greenock a number of times now and wouldn't go anywhere else 👍

My wee dog was seen as an emergency following immunisation. Under the circumstances we were told to bring the dog in straight away. Full, thorough examination carried out immediately. Turns out my tiny dog is a Drama Queen but the vet was amazing and very understanding. Excellent service, care and attention from all of the staff. I was very concerned about me wee dog and so pleased that the surgery were able to squeeze her in straight away, without an appointment and when the surgery should have been closed! Huge thanks the Abbey Vets for such immediate attention and care for my dog.
