Leith Vets describes itself as an independent practice, offering routine care (like vaccinations and neutering) as well as complex surgery and high-level dentistry. The clinic also highlights exotic and small herbivore referrals, and says it holds Gold International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) practice status.
From the latest reviews, owners repeatedly mention staff taking time with anxious or difficult-to-handle pets (including a very nervous foster dog and a fearful rescue cat), plus practical adjustments like letting a dog leave via a back door to avoid an overwhelming reception area. Several reviews also describe dental extractions with ongoing therapy and regular post-op check-ups after major surgery.

The thing that makes going to the vets more worthwhile, is not only the expertise and knowledge base of the vet themselves but also the reception staff. The receptionnist offered a warm welcome with a smile. The whole look of the consultation rooms and the reception decor has also been done really well. With a warm relaxed feeling to it all. So both boxes have been ticked well done here.

I am so grateful to the Leith Vets team. They take such considered care of their animals - I always felt secure that my dog, Sally was getting the best care towards the end of her life. The biggest 5 star review probably comes from Sally herself, a 40kg+ dog who wouldn't physically step foot in any other clinic, here or in Australia. She was pleased to see Jessica each time in Leith. You can trust this team to take care of your family.

We have had only positive experiences from taking our puppy to Leith Vets. He’s has a number of issues with his teeth which required extraction and ongoing therapies. Everyone who we saw during this time provided their valued expertise and greatest care and we couldn’t be more grateful. We wouldn’t take him anywhere else.

When our budgie died they comforted us and reassured us that we did nothing wrong and there was nothing we could do, and helped us to take care of my lonely bird. They did this all free of charge and whenever I go the staff are lovely. The blue one Prince sadly passed but we know he is in heaven now with other budgies around the world that had passed!

I cannot recommend Leith Vets enough. I’ve now taken two of my rescue foster dogs there and the vets have been superb. Both dogs were very nervous (one was the most nervous dog I’ve ever met) and the vets were brilliant with them, taking lots of time to help my dogs feel comfortable, bringing out the good treats to win them over and really taking it at the dogs pace. They also let me take my dog out the back door because they knew going through reception would be too overwhelming for them. Just brilliant service.

I brought my rabbit Cinnamon to Leith Vets to get her checked out for a lump that appeared on her side. After a thorough consultation and testing from Jessica, she underwent a major surgery conducted by Richard, their rabbit specialist. He did an amazing job removing the lump. She’s in recovery now and healing beautifully with regular post-op checks since. My experience from interacting with everyone at Leith Vets was very thorough and thoughtful service, and the environment when I go in is always friendly and welcoming. Recommend for rabbit owners based on this experience :)

I have had many pet’s attending a vet in walking distance for me as I don’t drive. After a bad experience with a cat I sadly lost as the vet did not pick up on certain issues! We lost him. After getting a puppy (Ziggy) we decided to move vets and you ( leith Vets ) have been outstanding! And now we have just registered our new kitten ( Cheeko ) there today! Amazing customer service and professional care and advice! I highly recommend!!!

I can honestly say you will not find a better service than Leith Vets-no matter how many google searches you do. The level of care is unparalleled. Not just for your fur-baby- but in keeping you appraised of any problems and treatments necessary. The support we received was excellent-and very heartfelt. I would recommend Leith Vets totally.

Wonderful vet! I recently attended with my rescue cat Tiny (who is incredibly scared of new people!). Tiny has a complex history of being a stray street cat in Hong Kong and undergoing a leg amputation and this is the first vet that she has let touch her easily, even looking in her mouth and at her gums (which no vet has been able to do before!). They did such an incredible job with her. We saw Dr Nicola, it was suspected asthma and she made me feel so at ease leaving Tiny in their care and explained everything, all the options, the possibilities, answered any and all questions, and was so patient. I couldn’t have found a better vet. A special mention to Petra and Patricia at reception who are equally wonderful. The pricing is also transparent and they give you an estimate upfront, which is always helpful! Tiny says thank you!
