I phoned the surgery to arrange my registration and was told I needed to come in to collect the form, which I did. When I tried to fill it in at the surgery, I was told I couldn’t do it there because other people were in the waiting room and might be discussing confidential information about their pets. I was asked to complete it at home instead, meaning I had to make extra trips just to drop the form off. What really put me off was how rudely this was communicated by the receptionist — it made me feel unwelcome and reconsider becoming a client here. I don’t understand why filling out a simple registration form in the waiting room would be a problem, especially since there are usually several people waiting with their pets anyway. I can’t comment on the veterinary care itself, but the receptionist definitely needs some customer service training.

I’ve been using Julie Innes for a few years now for my dog and cat. I will say I do like them, everyone is kind and friendly and helped my pets whenever they’ve needed it. Albeit there’s one receptionist who can be a bit snippy, but I don’t know who it is and I’ve only come across them once. My main issue is that whenever I’ve had claim for something, they don’t answer my insurance company’s calls or emails. Making the process difficult. I usually have to chase them up and whilst for minor issues this is fine, but having to chase them up and chase up my insurance after the death of my gsd girl. I’m quickly just fed up and grieving. I’m in no way blaming Julie or anyone at the practise, I feel I’m probably just in a stage of denial, anger or something. But I was told my gsd was very healthy before she went in for a spay, and under two weeks later she died of a mass on her spleen. I know you can’t find something you’re not looking for, but surely if she was tested thoroughly beforehand something that was as advanced as it was, something should have come up? I don’t know. They looked after her brilliantly when she did get spayed however and they were lovely with me as I was so worried. They did send me a lovely card after she passed which was nice. The practise itself also needs a major update as it’s quite run down. So it’s not the worst review, I’ve just lost my trust in them and again, I don’t blame anyone. I just don’t want to take my pets there anymore. I’d like a vet who can deal with insurance stuff without being chased up.

We have nothing but praise for Julie and her team. Every time we go to the practice everyone there treats my dog Rocco with care and compassion. It is as if he was their dog and nothing is too much trouble. Unfortunately, Rocco has terminal cancer, diagnosed by Julie. She has been great throughout this horrible time and informs and advises us with care, compassion and respect for Rocco. Obviously we'd rather not go through this difficult time but as we have to it's good to know that Julie and her team are there when we need them. Our other little dog Tia was also a patient of Julie's, and always received great care at the practice. Unfortunately, Tia passed away suddenly in August 22. Thanks are not always enough ...

Julie, thank you for spending time with us and explaining every step during our last minutes with our dear Bonnie. You are truly awesome, can't thank you enough for the past 11 years of care. Xx
