Gary charged over 2k to not save my cat's tail. Put her through trauma she shouldn't have and I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND THIS VETS 😡😡😡

I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but unfortunately I didn’t have a good experience with this practice. I was told that the ulcer in my cat’s eye was still active and that he would require a procedure costing around £500. I was also told that the eye drops he had been prescribed two weeks previously had been discontinued, and that there were no alternative drops that could be provided. I wasn’t convinced this was right, so I decided to seek a second opinion from another vet. They thoroughly examined my cat’s eye, including his third eyelid, which had not been examined previously. I was told that the ulcer had actually healed, although there was still an infection present. He was prescribed stronger antibiotics, and thankfully the problem was resolved after one visit. I was extremely disappointed to have spent around £300 (on overpriced medication and check ups) at this practice without the issue being properly resolved, particularly when I was subsequently told that the ulcer was no longer present. I appreciate that veterinary diagnoses can sometimes differ, but in this case I felt the examination and advice I received were inadequate, and I was left feeling that an unnecessary procedure may have been recommended. Sadly, this was a very poor experience, and I would encourage other pet owners to seek a second opinion if they have any doubts. Thankfully my cats eye is now all healed.

My dog Rolo has a bad skin condition and we have moved to Gary about a year ago. Gary is very helpful and knowledgable and my dog is a million times better and happier due to treatment and medication he is now on. I find a big difference seeing someone who actually cares about my dog and rolo looks forward to going into the practice as all the staff fuss over him . I find all the staff very pleasant and friendly and I’ve never had any issues. I’d highly recommend animal a&e as they get to the bottom of what is going on with your pet and are honest and trustworthy. I actually travel to this practice on a regular basis to see Gary and wouldn’t go anywhere else

I changed to Animal A+E as I've been looking for a local independent vet for a while. My first experience was seeing Gary and Katie with my dog Eevee for her boosters and health check last October and all went great. My most recent experience has been my rabbit Oreo who had a lump come up on his face and needed a dental. He has received excellent care from both Gary who performed his surgery and Katie who has been looking after him at his follow ups. The night after his surgery I was concerned as the wound had turned into a boil but Gary told me what to do and it didn't require an out of hours visit. Oreo is still requiring follow ups for his face but I know he's in good hands. The consultations never feel rushed. All the staff I have met have been very friendly and helpful. They clearly care about the animals they work with. The consultation fees are all reasonable and so are the medications. The out of hours being operated by the vet practice was one of the biggest reasons I changed to Animal A+E as it's very reassuring to know the same vet practice will be dealing with my animals if they ever need help then.

Was given one worming tablet...5 days colic medicine and half a consultation as Lisa the vet was obviously busy with other things. So busy in fact she tried to charge me £177.00....absolutely bloody shocked

Gary is very approachable, easy going and has great energy!!
