𝗩𝗲𝘁𝘀𝟰𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳-𝗩𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘂𝗹𝗱 🩺💷💷💷🐈‍⬛⬅️ inside 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗻.... x.🖋 ⭐⭐ 2️⃣ STAR Review -- Disappointing Customer Experience – Recently, I have used Vets4Pets Cumbernauld while also trying to find appropriate home veterinary care for my 12-year-old rescue cat, CoCo, who is extremely difficult to handle when frightened or stressed. I want to make clear that I can only focus this Review on this particular experience surrounding 'BonQat' -- leaving a rather bad taste in my cats mouth. Profits before Pets 🩺💷💷💷⬅️🐈‍⬛ Following their veterinary advice, I purchased a 2️⃣ml bottle of Bonqat directly from the practice for £8️⃣8️⃣.6️⃣8️⃣. I subsequently discovered that I could have asked for a written prescription and potentially sourced the same prescribed medication elsewhere for considerably less, with the practice's prescription fee currently being £1️⃣6️⃣. My concern wasn't that the practice charges for medication. I understand that a veterinary practice is a business and has costs to meet. My concern was that I wasn't given the choice. Or imo, given the best advice or customer care. I had already explained my financial circumstances as living with a life-limiting illness is very challenging both physically & financially. And I was simply trying to do the right thing for my cat so I followed the advice I was given. So PLEASE DO NOT fall for this like me. I raised this directly with the practice rather than immediately going public. Unfortunately, the response I received explained that they have no legal obligation to provide alternative financial options, and that recommending a cheaper option which benefits another business would not be in their own financial interest. I appreciate the explanation, but as a customer and pet owner, I found that response extremely disappointing. For me, this isn't about expecting veterinary care for free. It's about being given an informed choice before spending nearly £90 on a small bottle of prescribed medication, particularly when the customer has already explained that finances are difficult. Even a simple: > “We can supply it here for £8️⃣8️⃣.6️⃣8️⃣, or we can issue a prescription for £16 and you can compare prices elsewhere.” would have made a huge difference. Instead, I only learned about the alternative after I had already paid. The practice has now confirmed that if I need Bonqat again, they can provide a prescription, which I appreciate. I never thought I'd need to write such a Review for a Brand I thought was decent. So PLEASE be aware that our local Vets4Pets Cumbernauld inside Pets At Home is franchised but the brands are under one group. Nevertheless, the handling of this particular issue has left me feeling that the commercial side of the transaction was put ahead of giving me the opportunity to make an informed financial choice & good Customer/Patient Service. ⛔️ 𝗦𝗢 𝗕𝗨𝗬𝗘𝗥 𝗕𝗘𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘 - ⚠️ 𝗗𝗢𝗡'𝗧 𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗩𝗘𝗧𝗦𝟰𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗙-𝗩𝗘𝗧𝗦 ⚠️ I sincerely hope the practice owner & practice manager takes this feedback on board, because otherwise my experience with the clinical team has been considerably more positive. After having a terrible experience elsewhere, I decided to get a second opinion about my cat’s eye, and I’m so glad I did. The vet thoroughly checked his eye and third eyelid, something that hadn’t been done previously, and was able to establish that the ulcer had actually healed, although there was still an infection present. He was prescribed the appropriate stronger antibiotics, and thankfully the issue was resolved after just one visit and a check up. The difference in the level of care and attention was incredible. I’m extremely grateful to the vet for taking the time to properly investigate the problem rather than jumping straight to an expensive procedure. The care, knowledge and professionalism we received were outstanding. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a vet who genuinely cares about their patients and their owners. I’ll definitely be using them again

Visited pets for vets today in Cumbernauld with my daughters beloved hamster with a sore eye. Consultation fee was £50 which you expect however was charged £17.71 for 1ml of anti biotic, yes 1ml - the bottle feels empty with just a drip in it. Also got metacam and was charged £13.47 for 1ml. Metacam can be bought for about £5 for a bottle and the anti biotic can be bought for about £40 per 100ml online. That's quite a mark up 🤔 I called to query the bill as there is literally 1 drip in each bottle and was proudly told "yes that's correct it £17.71 per ml" I am honestly in shock! Disgusted 😡

The staff are always incredibly kind and show the best care for our dog. This also extends to us, ensuring we are fully up to speed with each step in any appointment.
