Deveron Veterinary Surgeons, located in Turriff, Scotland, provides a range of veterinary services with a special focus on emergency care and veterinary nurse training. The clinic has received a mixed overall rating of 4.1 stars from 120 reviews, indicating a generally positive reputation but with notable criticisms.
The clinic is praised by some clients for its welcoming atmosphere and thorough consultations. Sharron Taylor, a recent first-time visitor, appreciated the spacious facilities and the caring approach of both the receptionist and the veterinary team, describing her experience as relaxing and recommending the clinic highly. Sam Ball also highlighted the support and expertise of Kris and Iveta, particularly during stressful situations, and commended the entire team for their professionalism and assistance.
However, there are significant concerns regarding the pricing structure and communication. Alasdair Gray expressed frustration over high costs associated with diagnosing and ultimately putting his pet to sleep, despite acknowledging the staff's kindness. Sarita Creighton had a particularly distressing experience, citing unprofessional treatment and administrative issues that led to a loss of trust in the clinic. Her account underscores some clients' concerns about the practice's management and financial practices.
In terms of pricing, specific figures are mentioned in the reviews: £700 for diagnostic procedures and £2,000 for a surgical operation, reflecting a substantial financial commitment for pet owners. Despite the mixed feedback, the dedication of certain staff members like Vicky, Wendy, Kris, and Iveta is evident in several reviews, highlighting their efforts to provide compassionate care. Overall, while Deveron Veterinary Surgeons has strengths in staff professionalism and care, there are areas for improvement in pricing transparency and administrative efficiency.

The staff are absolutely lovely, they really are, via phone calls and at reception, really caring people. We had to put down our 4 year old cat today because she swallowed something she shouldn't and caused a blockage. It cost £700 to get a blood test, x-ray and put her on a drip just to diagnose what was wrong. It was then going to be a further £2000 for an operation to remove the foreign object, an operation she may not survive. In the end it cost me £950 to put her to sleep..as I've already said the staff are amazing, lovely, caring people, but the costs the owners and business are charging are absolutely ludicrous. Please don't bother with the generic/AI responses you have given previously below, I'm not interested.

Joke of a place!!! Only good thing is Vicky and the lovely receptionist who gets her nails done where I do (you know who you are lovely)💜💜💜 Got a letter about trust and termination. Because of money!!! Found a new practice before I got the letter........ but not the point!! You know what you did to my poor little dog Roy!!! Very unprofessional and unnecessary!! I was sent a letter about trust and end of care for my 3 pet dog's. You guys broke this when you treated my little dog Roy the way your colleagues did last time he was there in your practice!! I was told he has mass tumours!! Then they were jabbing him with needles for a biopsy......but couldn't get one without blood in it!! I don't understand what they were trying to achieve!! Took 2 of your colleagues to hold him down and 1 other to try get what they were trying to do but failing miserably!! Then after his and my ordeal they said he would have to get put under (£900 approx)!! I love my dog so much I agreed but was very concerned with him being an older dog!! We were all booked in for him to get put under. Then the night before got a phone call to come in and pick up medication that the practice forgot to give us when we were there!! We live in macduff!! So we drove to your practice got an additional charge of £8 odd and then brought him in the next morning...........only to be told he was never booked in in the first place??? No record!!! Nothing!! Look i suffer from PTSD....EUPD......psychosis and severe depression and anxiety i am still in a mess over this ordeal!! It is not on!! So yes I have found another vet as I have lost all trust in YOUR practice!! I was overly upset at the time and now after!! Caused by yourselves being very unprofessional!!! I don't want a call back. I don't want anything to do with your practice again!! Letter i sent to them............ so upset and frustrated at how they can treat people and animals!!!!!! Would definitely NOT recommend this practice at all...avoid at all cost!!!!!

Kris and Iveta walked me through every step, putting me at ease the whole time through a stressful diagnosis. I had full trust and capabilities leaving niyah in their hands during surgery. I can not thank them enough for all their expertise and support. A special thank you to Margaret for all her help at the desk arranging all the last minute appointments and to the nurses that answered all my questions and helped along the way. What a fantastic team all round at deveron vets!

Visited several times with my Neighbour and his dog Max. All the time I have been their the staff from the reception to the vet team have always explained everything thoroughly. Even this morning when it was obvious that it was his timer to go over rainbow bridge. Wendy was excellent stern at pointing out the pain he was in but ultimately left the decision to my neighbour to make Max was sedated and was fast asleep before we said our goodbyes before he headed on his way. I know his own vet will be sad to hear on Monday. Thank you all so much for looking after max all his life
