Bute and Cowal Vets, located in Rothesay on the Isle of Bute, Scotland, is a veterinary practice offering a range of services, including emergency veterinary care available 24/7 or during extended hours. The clinic has garnered a commendable Google Maps rating of 4.6 stars based on 60 reviews, indicating a generally high level of customer satisfaction.
The reviews reveal a predominantly positive client experience, with many praising the staff's professionalism and compassionate care. Jeff Marshall, a recent reviewer, expressed gratitude for the sympathetic and caring treatment his dog received from the vet Duncan, particularly during a difficult time. Julie Dickinson also commended the thoroughness of the care during her dog's check-up and vaccination, highlighting the friendly reception staff. Other reviews echo these sentiments, with Harry Emery noting excellent service and Carol Louden appreciating the detailed attention and advice provided as a first-time dog owner.
However, there is a notable negative review from Sara Campbell, who recounted a distressing experience regarding her dog's treatment. She reported a lack of empathy and financial rigidity that led to seeking emergency care elsewhere. This contrasting feedback serves as a reminder of the importance of consistent customer service.
Overall, Bute and Cowal Vets seems to be a reputable clinic with mostly satisfied clients, but potential customers should weigh the positive experiences against the isolated negative feedback.

STAY CLEAR, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS VETS!!!! My dog has had on going issues since going to this vets. My Dog was refused treatment by Duncan at this vets yesterday, Was told i was need to pay for treatment that day or they would keep my dog until i was able to pay for treatment. Explained i didnt get paid til the end of the month but was still refused, Also told it wasnt life threatening but had to get an emergency appointment at the pdsa in Glasgow and was told by them that my dog was swallowing the poison that was gathered up in her mouth & could of been fatal, This man is supposed to care for the sick animals but the attitude and lack of care given yesterday was appalling. will not be taking my pets here again.

Staff were lovely. Vet spent alot of time with my puppy and answering all my question and as a first time dog owner there was plenty. Receptionist was friendly and informative about health plan and what it entails
